How does the monthly check-in put something in my calendar?
By PlanJour team, Sparklithic Ltd · Published · Updated
Rating your life out of ten and closing the window changes nothing. The check-in can now turn a low score into one specific, recurring commitment - in your real calendar.
The standard criticism of every wheel-of-life exercise, made most sharply by the coaches who use it professionally, is that a completed wheel with no follow-up is an interesting afternoon and nothing more.
What happens after you rate
When you finish a Life Progress check-in, PlanJour looks at the areas you scored lowest and offers you up to three of them. Not all of them — the coaching evidence is consistent that more than three produces scattered effort and nothing changes.
A commitment, not an intention
Pick an area and PlanJour proposes something small and specific in it. Not exercise more — a thirty minute walk on Tuesday and Thursday morning. Accept it and it goes into your calendar as a real recurring event, not a note.
You can rewrite it before it is scheduled. A commitment you did not choose the words for is not one.
And it comes back
At your next check-in, PlanJour shows you whether it held. That is the part almost nothing else does: the loop closes, and you find out.
Why PlanJour can do this at all
Because it owns both halves. Coaching tools have the wheel and no calendar. Calendars have no idea what you think of your own life. Holding both in one place is the entire reason this app exists.
