PlanJour on Your Phone: Home Screen Access and a Fast Today Page

An honest alternative to a native home-screen widget

A real, phone-native home-screen widget requires a native app built specifically for iOS or Android widget frameworks, which isn't something a web app can offer. Rather than pretend otherwise, PlanJour built the closest genuinely useful equivalent: a one-tap way to add PlanJour to your phone's home screen, plus a dedicated, deliberately tiny 'Today' page designed to open instantly.

Added during onboarding, not buried in settings

After signing up, mobile users are offered a simple one-tap prompt to add PlanJour to their home screen, shown once per device so it never nags. On Android and Chrome-based browsers, this uses the browser's native install prompt directly. On iOS Safari, which doesn't allow apps to trigger this automatically, you get clear manual instructions for the Share → Add to Home Screen steps instead, so nobody is left guessing.

planjour.com/today: light, fast, and to the point

The Today page strips away everything except what you'd want at a glance: today's agenda, sorted by time, and your habit checklist with streak counts, tappable right there without opening the full app. No header, no navigation, no extra taps, just today.

Two ways in, one calendar underneath

Whether you open the full calendar and journal or just tap into Today from your home screen icon, it's all reading from the same underlying data. Tick a habit off from Today and it's reflected instantly in the full Journal too.

Add PlanJour to your home screen the next time you sign up, and open straight into your day: start free.
