A long pass over the phone, and the year you just had
Dozens of fixes to how PlanJour behaves on a phone - dialogs, drag and drop, the day view, the month grid - plus Year in Review, assembled from your own record rather than a blank template.

The phone

Most of this is invisible if it is working, which is rather the point. Event dialogs that opened off-screen now open where you can see them. The day view opens at your day rather than at midnight. The month grid uses only the rows the month needs instead of always drawing six. Drag and drop was rebuilt from the ground up on a new foundation so that moving an event with a finger lands where you let go - including while the view is scrolling underneath you.

There was also a timezone bug that recorded events an hour away from the time you chose. That is fixed, and the forum thread reporting it is closed.

Year in Review

Most year-end reviews hand you a blank template and ask you to remember. You sit with an empty prompt and try to reconstruct twelve months from memory, which is exactly the thing memory is worst at.

PlanJour holds a year of events, entries, moods, habits and check-ins. Year in Review is assembled from that: where the time actually went by category, how your Life Progress scores moved, the lines you pressed and kept, the habits that held. It ends by seeding next year's targets.

It reads from confirmed events, so it is the real year rather than the intended one.
