What's new
Everything we're actively building, out in the open: new features, improvements, and for the ideas that are genuinely new, the thinking behind them.
Pressed: keep the lines worth keeping
Press any line from your journal and it is kept on a page of its own, like a flower pressed between the pages of a notebook.
PlanJour now works without a signal
Open your calendar and journal on a plane, on the Underground, or anywhere the signal drops. Your last saved data is still there.
Deleting something is no longer final
Delete an event and you now get a few seconds to take it back, with an Undo button on the confirmation.
Search your calendar and your journal
Find any event or journal entry in seconds. Press Ctrl K, or tap the search icon in the calendar header.
Fixed recurring delete + a live “now” line in Day view
Deleting a whole repeating series now removes every part of it, and the Day view shows a moving line at the current time and opens to “now”.
Recurring events and sharing are now free
Two things that used to need Plus are now free for everyone: repeating events, and sharing your calendar or individual events with other people.
Reliability & security hardening
Quick-add now tells you when it fails, achievements are live, the age gate and trophy awards are enforced server-side, and a test suite guards the core logic.
Year Planner: see your whole year, then decide where the time goes
A new Plus feature for yearly planners and travellers: see all 12 months at a glance, set a target time split across your life categories, and track your plan against what's actually on your calendar.
PlanJour now speaks 8 languages
The marketing site and core app navigation are now available in Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Arabic, alongside English.
Introducing the Forum: ask us anything
Got a technical issue or a question about PlanJour? Ask it in the new Forum and get a real answer from the team.
Fixed: mobile pages had two scrollbars fighting each other
On mobile, Calendar (Week/Day/Month/Agenda) and Journal could get stuck with two independently-scrolling sections layered on top of each other, making it hard to scroll all the way to the bottom. Fixed so each page has a single, properly working scroll area.
New: Habit streak tracking
Every habit on your daily checklist now shows a running streak (consecutive days ticked), right next to the habit itself, on the full Journal page and the Calendar day-view quick panel.
New: Dark mode
An evening-friendly dark theme for the calendar, journal, life progress and achievements. Toggle it from the profile menu, or leave it to follow your device's setting automatically.
New: Weekly recap email
A short weekly email summarising wins logged, where your time went, and a nudge if your monthly Life Progress Check is due. Sent only when there's something worth telling you.
New: a quick Today page for your home screen
planjour.com/today is a tiny, fast page with just today's agenda and your habit streaks (tap to tick off). Add it to your phone's home screen for an instant glance without opening the full app.
New: Playful journal cover patterns
A new cover pattern pack for anyone who wants more fun than elegant: confetti, hearts, smileys, rainbows and balloons, in real bright colour. Confetti is free; the rest are Plus.
New: onboarding now offers to add PlanJour to your home screen
After the usual welcome steps, mobile users are now offered a one-tap way to add PlanJour to their home screen for instant, app-like access. Shown once per device.
Fixed: Day view could hide the calendar navigation on mobile
On some phones, opening Day view could scroll the Agenda/Day/Week/Month bar off screen, and tapping the Calendar tab wouldn't bring it back. Fixed by removing the auto-scroll behaviour that was causing it on mobile.
Fixed: quick-add popup not scrollable on mobile, and Edit closing itself instantly
On mobile, long popups like New Event could feel stuck (their drag handle was competing with scrolling). Also fixed a timing bug where tapping Edit on an event could make the edit popup flash open and immediately close again.
Site-wide SEO refresh
Tightened page titles and descriptions, added missing meta tags to sign-up and login pages, added an FAQ section with rich-result markup, fixed a robots.txt issue that was hiding our own noindex tags from Google, and refreshed the sitemap with real update dates.
The PlanJour Podcast is live
We started a podcast. Listen on Spotify or Apple Podcasts, or find the links in the footer of any page.
Fixed: Day view wouldn't scroll, and Month view felt cramped
The Day view's hourly timeline could get stuck and refuse to scroll, and Month view's day boxes rendered smaller than intended. Both came from the same layout bug, now fixed.
Fixed: birthday step could get stuck on some devices
The mandatory one-time birthday check now uses simple day/month/year dropdowns instead of a native date picker, which could fail to open on some browsers and leave people stuck.
Fixed: calendar header wrapping oddly on laptop screens
The view switcher (Agenda/Day/Week/Month) and the action buttons (Journal, Routines, etc.) could wrap onto two lines on certain laptop-sized windows. They now stay on one row, or collapse into the menu earlier if there isn't room.
Fixed: feedback prompt could fail silently
If the quick recommend-a-friend feedback prompt failed to save, it previously just reset with no explanation. It now shows an error and lets you retry.
Fixed: several features silently failing to save for real accounts
A permissions rule bug was blocking regular accounts (not just admins) from saving in five places: feedback responses, whole-calendar sharing, feature request submissions, upvotes, and earned achievements. All five are fixed.
Fixed: Life Progress Checks screen looked broken for free accounts
The upgrade prompt free accounts see on Life Progress Checks could get cut off or misaligned, especially on smaller screens. Fixed the layout so the card and its button always display fully and line up correctly.
Tidied up the calendar header
Routines and Sync moved into the profile menu, and the header row is now guaranteed to stay on one line instead of occasionally wrapping on laptop-sized windows.
Journal: one entry, everywhere
Your mood, habits and notes now save to the same journal entry whether you write them from the Calendar's Day view or the full Journal notebook, and every mood and weather option is finally pickable.
Wheel of Life: a cleaner picture
Your Wheel of Life check-in now scores your built-in life categories individually, with all your custom categories combined into one 'Other' score, so the wheel stays a small, comparable set of areas.
Share your whole calendar, view-only
Give another PlanJour account holder view-only access to your entire calendar, not just a single event. A PlanJour Plus feature.
Export an itinerary to PDF
Turn any week, month or custom date range of your calendar into a nicely formatted PDF you can send to anyone, even if they don't have a PlanJour account. A PlanJour Plus feature.
A smoother mobile calendar
Day and Week view now open right at your working hours on mobile too, and busy days in Month view are easier to see and tap through.
Life Progress Checks
A monthly Wheel of Life check-in. Rate each life area out of 10, watch your wheel change shape over time, and see whether things are heading the direction you want. A PlanJour Plus feature.
Digital trophies & achievements
Earn trophies automatically from your own calendar and journal activity — gym visits, journaling streaks, birthdays and more — with progress bars showing how close you are.
Feature requests & voting
Suggest what you want PlanJour to build next, and upvote the ideas from other users you'd want too.
Introducing What's New
A public changelog so you can see exactly what we're building and shipping, as it happens.
Categories that grow with you
Your default categories are now based on the Wheel of Life model, with a couple of more personal ones only appearing once your account is old enough for them.
Export your journal to PDF
Turn any month of your journal into a beautifully formatted PDF you can keep, print, or share — a PlanJour Plus feature.
PlanJour Plus
Unlimited journal history, every cover theme and pattern, recurring events, reminders, calendar sync and PDF export — all in one upgrade.
Sync your other calendars
Connect external calendars via iCal so everything lands in one place — no more checking four apps to know what your day looks like.
Event reminders by email
Set a reminder on any event and we'll email you before it starts — no more relying on remembering to check the calendar.
Design your own journal cover
Pick a colour, a pattern, a foil accent, and name your journal — it's yours from the very first page.
Your daily journal
A cream-paper, spiral-bound journal that sits right next to your calendar — log your mood, the weather, what you're grateful for, and your thoughts each day.
A notebook-style calendar
Plan your days with doodle event shapes, stickers and colour-coded categories — a calendar that finally feels like your favourite notebook, not a spreadsheet.
